Hi, My family and I will be driving to Morzine for a few days this summer an d then onto another location to camp for a further 10 nights. I don't want to drive more than about 4 hours from Morzine. Last year, we did this and stayed south of Lake Annecy, which was lovely, but not a huge amount to do.
Is anyone able to suggest another location for part 2 of the holiday please? Essentials will be a lovely pool and good weather!
Thank you, Emma
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Weather cannot be guaranteed anywhere! ,You could have a scorching week in Normandy and a wet week in the South of France. Three suggestions for you though are Bernese Oberland in Switzerland (eg Interlaken), South lake Geneva (eg Thonon les Bains) and Burgundy (eg Beaune).
Thankyou. Which if those areas do you recommend the most? We will have our 2 daughters with us (22 and 19), so we need enough for them to do but equally, I like a quiet location. Perhaps cycle distance to towns, etc.
Emma, I would drive50 miles from Morzine toChamonix, choose a site there or a little further up the valley, and ride the big cable cars. But if the weather is bad then do as Longcol has suggested - because the sun is more likely to dine on the Italian side of the mountains. Don’t book sites in advance. Decide when you get there.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
