we are thinking of going to Spain and Portugal in the new year with the motorhome and car on the trailer.
looking to spend 3/4 months touring stopping mainly on sites for 1/2 weeks at a time, and touring the area with the car.
has anyone gotsuggestions of where to go and what to see, this is a first for us, we would like tospend some time on the beach.

No helpful suggestions, unfortunately, but just a reminder that you are allowed to be in the EU for a maximum of 90 days in one go, from when you enter to when you leave.

Your passport will be stamped at your entry to Eu and on exit, unless the electronic system is up and running. If you are over 90 days you will get found out!

The only sensible area of Spain / Portugal in winter is the coast as far south as you can. However, you will find tnat thousands of others already know that and campsites will be busy - so you may find it necessary to book in advance or phone ahead for availability. Climate figures are on line and will guide you what clothes to take.

All I asked for was information on Spain and Portugal in the winter, not how long you think I can stay there. there are very few cross border restrictions here in the EU.
any information on campsites and things to see would be most welcome

It’s hard to suggest sites without knowing how far south you are aiming to get…but if you get to the area between Cadiz and Gibraltar then Camping Rosaleda is good and well placed to visit those two cities.

Yup - as far south as you can - Algarve in Portugal, Almeria to Cadiz via Malaga and Gibraltar in Spain. Only ever stayed in gites / air b'n'b down that part of the world.

Location is only shown on the PC screens for UKCS. It’s not shown on phone screens / the app, which is where I read 90% of the posts.
The majority of UKCS members live in UK & Republic of Ireland, it’s the assumption unless we’re told otherwise.

we spent a couple of winters in both spain and portugal, for the better weather you need to hog the coasts the difference in temperature away from the coast is incredible. From Valencia going south is a good stating point. I can recommend Camping Tropicana in Alcocebre & Turiscampo in Luz Portugal, you might need to book in winter as its extremely busy

Have a look at Bella Vista in Manilva, not the cheapest but right on the coast with a marina with restaurants and bars nearby.
