Blimey! I thought I was good at tracking things down and getting the best deal but you guys are incredible... looks like I'll be having cheap(er) holidays for life.
The Eurocamp independant price is very expensive considering all they are doing is .... err... just what are they doing for the money? As a coaprison 10 days in Normandy and Brittany in July cost us well under £300 which includes ferry, tolls, petrol, pitches and food.
Speedferries are a great way to cross the channel. Got a "supervoucher" about a year ago, good value and don't have to fight with lorries at the port.

I've found some great sites through here. The paperback version comes out via Aldi/lidl every Spring!
I ended up here (below). Fantastic holiday, with everything you need on site, full shop, kiddies playground, great pool, vg restaurant and snack bars for the "cant be bothered to cook" moments. Pitch was £80 for 4 nts in top season, all-in. Weather is great in southern Germany - 32 degrees - well they do make exceedingly good wine! Why bother with France when you can go here!!??!?

Hi There I paid £115 for the dover callais ferry and £40 a night for 2 adults and 2 children is about right for a good site with a pool. Where are you thinking of staying?
We are going on Thursday - 11 nights in a static on a Yelloh site (4*) with a Poole St Malo crossing for the same price - just booked direct. It makes a huge difference to go after the French holidays have finished but even so. Thats one heck of a profit for Eurocamp.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
