David, I'm so envious of you! We have to give France a miss this year but i am starting to look at campsite and plan for next year! Again hubby's work committments are hampering my plans. Looks like we have to give July/August a miss again but no exams next year to contend with! How long are you away for?

The french munis are great. Particularly for value. France has to be the best country in europe to camp in, if only for the sites let alone all the other stuff.

It is a good campsite. I made it 200 miles from the Channel Tunnel.

There's a nice municipal site on the south side of Laon, cheaper than Challons and that bit nearer to Calais being to the west of Reims.  160 miles
