next wednesday, Dover dunkirk, stopover one night at gandspette then drive down to la guyonnaire. The in car DVD came today, the kids love it. Still waitng for the suncamp paris table and new kitchen to be delivered (old table broke and kitchen needed updating)Ordered them Saturday so the will come in time. First time abroad with the tent, so thats been pitched in the garden this week(goddam rain) for cleaning and repairs. Photocopied every document we can think of and put them in a folder ready, the real docs are in their own folder. Made a list a while back and for the last week we put 2 ikea bags in the conservatory and have been putting everything in there(not the clothes obviously) but the things you know you will need/want but might forget or cant find them. Stuff like kids sunglasses, suncream, swiss army knife, first aid kit, AVON stuff to keep mossies away, that sort of stuff. Surprised how quickly they have filled up. Car gets cleaned and maintained this weekend.
You know how you think so much about what to take and how to fit it in the car, well I do. Then someone else spots the obvious, in this case my wife. She just pointed out with 2 kids in the back why dont we take the middle seat out to give more room, priceless.
Well were not packed but were damn near close and raring to go.
PS how long does it take to load the car?
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
About 2 hrs of arguing, sweating and saying 'it's not all going to fit in which child is staying at home!'
Actually that's my husband's job - he thinks he can do it better than me so I just leave him to it. However why is it that the overnight hotel bag is always at the bottom of the boot!!
Ha ha glad its not just us, I keep going shopping for more clothes, shoes etc,my list is getting bigger not smaller! asked OH if he needed anything? He said yes could do with some hair gel good job I'm the only female! lol
Going to work saturday all day and leaving OH to pack up the car (saves the rowing!) he will park car and van out front of the house ready to go in the middle of night so get to portsmouth for 6.30 am
We go on 14th August for 2 weeks Plymouth to Roscoff. First time we have taken out tent abroad although used it many times in england - just not sure its all going to fit in the car (new car never been packed for camping) but hubby says it will all be fine! Campsite sorted and loads of activites for kids as long as our tall 5 year old will pass as 7.
Not started packing yet due to weather here - hope it's drier over the channel.
Anyway, its 2 weeks off work for hubby to chill out (after packing the car, getting to the ferry on time, not sleeping on the feery, finding the campsite and putting the tent up!! )
