We are off to La Palmyre in 3 weeks/3 days. Got all the docs/insurance ready and some basic groceries put aside but nothing else! We still need to get the gas bottle filled and I suppose some euros would be useful!!
Our breakdown insurance is with the RAC and medical insurance is with Karma (OH has med condition and they are good for providing cover without breaking the bank)
We are off to site near Fontainbleau for 3 nights then over to Loire Valley near Saumur, then 4 days to get back to Dunkirk for the ferry via Normandy? possibly
Insured with Red Pennant, all packed going Friday afternoon.

roofbox packed from last camping trip the other weekend! leaving on 1st August for 4 weeks, nothing booked and not sure of where to stay, have to drive myself and 3 kids.OH meeting us in Belgium which is our 1st stop then headed to Slovenia via Bodensee ,Lake Garda and Venice...very excited but bit nervous of spending first 3 days camping by myself and the driving too!
working away until Sunday so van all packed last weekend (apart from clothes) all documents done, euros purchased, empty wine kegs loaded for filling at vineyards!!! car booked for service on Monday... all this reminded me to look into the van insurance as I'm with that E&L outfit and realised their charging me £16/m for what is probably dodgy insurance when I can get the same cover with the CCC for £95/yr!! so going to do that whilst I remember!!!
Van just needs washing/polishing car needs loading when work is finished and were off!!
Also...kids (kids....14&16!!) have always moaned that the dvd screens had a cr*p sound...now got a new car and bought a 3.5mm jack lead to connect it to the car stereos input socket...result..Odeon cinema!!!!! I shall just have to picture the film in my head as I don't think a 3rd screen up front is legal !!!!

We set off 3 weeks tomorrow. Now in full swing with packing/organising - also have to get DS(19) organised for 3 nights at Sonisphere festival just before we go & a week in Ireland while we're away so it's a little bit manic around here!
We bought travel & breakdown insurance thru Europe Assistance - came out loads cheaper for us than Red Pennant.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
