Nelmo, we've booked La G for the last 5 nights of our hols so will be there 25th-30th August. I have had some mixed feelings and did dither (buts thats usual for me with any site) but for us the deciding factor was its Castels which we rate, the other brits for our 12yr old daughter to mix with (if she can break the ranks of the regulars!) and the onsite horseriding and other facilities. Have you read about "stony silence" at La G?
Hoping the site wont be packed to the rafters right at the end of August.
Hi Savanne1, we met at pillaton last year. May see you at La G as we'll be there 21st-29th August - although this thread is now giving me doubts as to whether i've done the right thing - oh well.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Hi Tracy+Charlie, yes I remember you, will look out for you. Will you be in your caravan? We'll be in the inlaws MH. I'm sure you've got a daughter a similar age to ours? (12). We'll have to have a drink or two. Shall have to swap mobile numbers nearer the time or I'll have to resort to wandering the site looking for you lol.
I'm not changing my booking despite some negative comments as Chloe is looking forward to it and we only plan to relax onsite as it'll be the end of our hols.

------------- Thistledown Easter
Nantcol June
Domaine du Verdon Castellane and Etoile d'Argens Frejus Aug
We looked at both campsites but in the end went for another Castels site, Domaine des Forges (though I can't exactly remember why now LOL, perhaps it was the price).
We too would rather not stay on a campsite with 90% Brits..or even 50%..as we like to feel like we are in France when indeed we are! This isn't always possible (as we've found in the past at L'Etang de la Breche) but we would avoid places so highly advertised such as LPP. We could go for smaller sites, but then we tend to lose out on facilities etc; so it's a juggling game.
It doesn't really matter where we all are this summer, as long as there is a pool / lake / sea nearby as it's going to be an absolute SCORCHER!
