Ray: both Brielle and delft are very old cities, with the old citycentre being intact. Delft is larger, more shops in the centre, but lovely. You can visit the 'Prinsenhof' (the old home, of the William of Orange, more or less the founder of our state, or William, not the other one, who was king William of Orange and has been in the UK, some generations later). Delft has some parking problems, and you have to pay just about everywhere near the centre for parking now. I don't mind paying a bit for parking, but by day it is difficult to find aparking place adn youi have to take account of the time allowed by the parking metre. Brielle is a bit more quiet, but also very intact within the old city walls. The walls/fortifications are intact. The centre is lovely. No parking problems, as the citycentre (or rsather the city/town) is within a few minutes (ca.10 minutes) on walking distance. After your travelling day, leave everything at the campsites and get into the town for a drink. The 'Hoofdwacht' would be a ncie place for a drink. Maybe a Leffe Tripel or a Westmalle tripel? They have a good kitchen.
Both cities/towns are very worthwile as such, but I think I would prefer the walking dustance after a day of travelling.

I'll second that! I don't know about Brielle but you can walk into Delft city centre in about 20 minutes from Delftse Hout campsite.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
