When I was growing up in the fifties and sixties, no one wore shorts in the pool, they had swimming trunks, similar to what all the men seem to be complaining about nowadays. Obviously young men must be far more prudish than the men I knew. I didn't see shorts in the pool until I went to the US in 1981, and I know Americans tend to be prudish, I can only conclude that as usual we have to follow along behind the Americans. I must also add that most Americas also wear their underwear under the shorts.
Hi Mrs potts- the owners are dutch and speak very good english so pas de probleme!!!! while we were there 13 aug-3rd sept very relaxed at the pool, no one checking shorts- maybe they would be more concerned earlier in season?? also things may have changed in 2 years- but they seemed so chilled i cant imagine it.

Ive been going to france for the last 5 years, and ive swam in loads of pools, and have never seen this rule, I always wear shorts not posing pouch. Have never been told otherwise!
Hi MrsPots, yes Le Bohat is a really lovely site, we are just getting ready for our third visit!
Last year i do remember seeing some men in the pool in the longer swimming shorts although most men wore the speedo type shorts or trunks. I have been looking at their website though today and noticed something in the news section about *Lodge Club* and after clicking on that I have a feeling that the site may have/be getting new owners??? and if so the speedo rule may now apply.
