Hi Francais, I'm struggling to decide who is best to go for now as regards to breakdown, as I don't particularly trust our Barclays RAC cover now after being told yes our trailer is covered by one call centre employee & then no it isn't by another. Your experience sounded pretty good, who do you use? Couldn't stand the thought of the car ruining the holiday, so OH went and bought a new (not brand new) Passatt from VW today, we pick it up next Wednesday, tow bar fitted Thursday & we're off on Friday!!

Md5037, I'm sorry to hear of the misfortune you had with the RAC I can't believe you could receive such poor service from one of the UK's leading breakdown organisations - hope that you get somewhere with your complaint. Have you put a post on here telling others of your bad experience?

Old chap, crickey what a horror story! I'm really not sure what to do....We don't really want to join a club to benefit from breakdown (we left the C&CC earlier on in the year because we wasn't really getting our monies worth from it). I think I'm going to delve in to the Green Flag & find out peoples experiences, as looking through Green Flag summary, it did seem to be pretty comprehensive. I would have been interested in ADAC after reading OP's posts, but think it may be a bit late in the day to organise that now as we leave nxt Fri.
