Is your debit card - Switch/Cirrus/Maestro??? All are accepted for payment and cash advances from machines. Don't worry. The nearer you are to the channel ports however, retaillers can be a bit iffy due to lorry drivers using fraudulent cards in previous years. Also different branches of the same shop have different policies about accepting Switch. You should have no problems at all. I notified my bank and credit card people that we would be away for 4 weeks last year. Both were a bit 'blank' wondering why I bothered.... I tore them off a strip.
