The site at Neufchâtel was excellent, I'd highly recommend it. There were some tents on there. It was pretty full, but maybe quieter next week. The food in the restaurant was very nice, and very reasonably priced. We were going to stay there on our last night, but as our tunnel crossing is booked for 11.20am, and it's a good 3 hour drive away, that would mean getting up at stupid o'clock, so we shall try to find somewhere closer to Calais I think.

It only takes us a max hour and 50 mins if you go on the motorway. We usually get the 11am ferry and have plenty of time. Hope you enjoy Saumur.
Many thanks for the feedback on the site, Wendy. Much appreciated.
My calcs have it down as 100miles/1.5 hours (not towing).
This site is actually my first choice (for our stopover) for the site itself, but if all goes to plan, we'll be stopping at Rouen, as that is first choice to suit the location/timings etc.
Not overly fussed about the surroundings/locality, as we'll pretty much be in and out, other than maybe a short evening stroll/cycle ride to stretch our legs... and an early night!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
