We were in southern Bavaria in May this year. Lovely but a bit wet!! Not being great linguists we liked the way English was very widely spoken (much more than France). also had problems with using Credit Cards. Fuel and large tourist attractions okay but restaurants and supermarkets varied but mostly didn't accept them.

Thinking of following the Romantiches Strasse next year.
A few nights at the top, a few in the middle and some more at the end.
Anyone done it and recommend ACSI campsites?

Not an ACSI site but reasonable price is Tauber Idyll just outside Rothenburg.

At the bottom end of the Romantic road near Neuschwanstein Castle we stayed at Camping Bannwaldsee.

Right on the cycle path which takes you to both castles, to the lakes or to Fussen.

Don't know if they are ACSI as we aren't members but it was a really good site and they offered us out of season rate think we paid €17 all in.
