Thanks for all your replies. I'm encouraged that it was a difficult question because that suggests most sites are decent and the people who review on Trip Advisor / Zoover must be miserable gits :-)
You've given me some food for thought also. I didn't ask for recommendations because I'm not sure yet whether I want to go for big and lively, small and quiet or somewhere in between, but I think you've helped me tailor my choices a bit.
aloha or les sablons, weve stayed at mediterane plage which is literally next door to sablons but didnt compare really, small pitches noisy entertainment which kicked off every night at 9.00 pm always halfway through our meal !! pool area small and plain in comparison lady in bakery shouldnt work with public she didnt smile at an english person in two weeks, the road to it was a bit windy out the way and nothing in walking distance to speak of other than a pizza place
