I know how she feels I am not the nervous type usually but I have told dave if before next wed anything else happens that's it.hope you have lovely holiday it's all about comprises but I shall come home with a nice piece of jewellery lol
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
France is huge, I just think wherever you are, even Dorset, you have as much chance as getting caught up in something as anywhere else, which amounts to basically very little chance. I'm not a worrier and tend to be a free spirit but I do admit I would try to avoid public gatherings, not just in France though. The nutters MO at the moment seems to be attacking public places with large numbers of people. Some food for thought.....
In France, in the last two years, there have been eight attacks, killing a total of 247 people. There are 66 million people in France. At the current level of activity, their odds of being killed in a terrorist attack in a given year are less than two ten-thousandths of one per cent. That’s 27 times lower than their odds of dying in a car accident.
It is estimated that the empirical annual probability of a UK resident dying from a preventable cause (e.g. smoking, drinking, obesity, adverse hospital events, violence etc) is 1 in 417, this being 38,000 times higher than the empirical annual probability of a UK resident being killed by a terrorist of about 1 in 16 million.

Hope you have a lovely time bellringer18 , Tracy is the nervous type to start off with so I said we would leave it this year and could see the relief in her face lol ... She just wouldn't enjoy it at moment so will just have to make the most of it over here , we did newquay , St Ives , lands end and Torquay last year so we going to go along the Dorset coast this year just have to try find some decent sites now
I have just been reading the local news for Dorset - teenager found dead in the street and so on - there was nothing like that where we went during the month we just spent in France. So do please let us know how you get on there.
We will be there with bells on, we leave Aus on 25th August will be hitting France 1st weekend of September. Cant bloody wait. Those low life scum bags can kiss my fat arse, there is no way in hell they are going to stop us from being able to live our lives. Viva La France.

The problem with irrational fears is they are just that - irrational.
The stats above are probably very true indeed, but if someone is going to worry about doing something its unlikely any paper stats will change their mind.
Problems can indeed happen anywhere at anytime, just enjoy your hols wherever anyone ends up !
Very true sunshinetours and it is also true that it can happen anywhere but Tracy is the type that worries about worrying if you know what I mean lol , I could have pushed her to go but she would not have enjoyed it so made the decision not to go , maybe next year

this is so true. dont let media hype spoil your fun.
i have worked in Israel a number of times and even with rocket attacks out of Gaza you are still more likely to die in a car accident than any terrorist attack.
i dont think french terrorist cells will waste there time on obscure seaside resorts when there are big cities and events to exploit.
i was in Dorset last august at highlands end near west bay. it rained all week and one night blew a severe gale trashing a number of awnings and driving all of the tent campers away by the morning, it was frightening. this is why i vowed there and then to go to france this year. i hope this current warm weather stays with you as apart from the weather there are some nice places to visit in Dorset.
