Paul,
if you are staying three nights you should go to Pegasus Bridge if you haven't been before. Very interesting/thought-provoking museum and the famous cafe by the bridge. Caen and the castle is nice too if you like medieval type things. We were in Caen working four years ago and became very fond of the place.
