Probably the best value for money wine on the planet when bought by the case.

Savour it - though I'm sure it'll feature in future wine fairs - been in about the last 6 Lidl have had and AFAIK still the same price it was in 2018.

This côte du Rhône vieille vignes sells for £11.20 in Waitrose.

The same size and vintage as the €1.99 (£1.80) in the Lidle "foire" offer.

Buy 2 cases and you have already saved the cost of going to France and back

Think of the savings if you buy half a dozen cases!

2021 here in France - it's been a so and so of a year so here's looking forward to better times!

All the best to everybody.

Oh heck...didnt realise this...looks like France is now off the cards for us long term!

We bring back around 150 bottles that gets us through to the new year usually.....we currently have about 10 ltrs remaining of our summer stock!

I just checked the regs and and we can bring back 24 bottles of wine and 12 bottles of fizzy stuff each. Thats gonna get complex with boxes of 5 ltrs!

And if you go over that limit its £2.22 in UK tax per bottle of normal % wine that you will have to pay at the border!

That would be £2.22 plus vat, so £2.66.

Worth remembering that these limits were put in place by the UK Government!!! Perhaps you should all write to your MP's

We ran out of French wine about Easter last year, we would normally be stocking up in France in May, and Sept. We had to scratch around at the back of the cupboards to find the dregs, bottles we had been given, or won in a raffle. After they were gone, we've had to be inventive with 'cocktails', our stocks are very depleted now. Heaven forbid that we actually have to buy wine at the supermarket.

Anyone got a good recipe to use with Benedictine? It tastes like cough mixture.........

Big wine rack, and we do buy quite a few of the 5ltr boxes from vineyards, so these are easy to stash! And if there isnt space then we have to open them!

are 'tobacco sticks for heating' for those hookah pipes?

anyway, will the new limits on import quantities and the additional duties thereof reflect in the price of wine and beer on the shelves of the supermarkets here? will the supermarkets need to pay additional duties on their imports? in the past when i used to travel accross the tunnel and back many times each year i would enjoy a trip around cite europe to stock up on booze but latley i havent bothered because the prices in Aldi etc meant it wasnt worthwhile. i still enjoyed a walk around carefour just to bring back some french goodies. now we have something of a captive market will prices increase?
