I booked my tunnel crossing for my sub-6m VW Crafter PVC for June 2026 in mid July 2025, and it cost 478 GBP including return for my dog which I thought was reasonable for just over 3-week stay in France and Germany.
Tuesday mid-morning crossing which I am hoping I would get there sufficiently early to be able to catch an earlier crossing by staying overnight near Folkstone.
Return is mid-afternoon on a Saturday to give me sufficient time to go for a grocery shop in one of the big supermarkets to stock up on French goodies.

It's gone up by 30 GBP today to 508 GBP for the same outbound and inbound crossings, enough for a nice meal at Flunch!
It pays to book early in my book!

We booked yesterday 6.5m motorhome plus two dogs, out mid June back just over three weeks later £462 This is out lunchtime Saturday and return about the same time, again a Saturday
So I'm not seeing any benefit in booking back in July DK
I have tracked the prices for the past four months and honestly there has been very little change in cost. The dogs have went up the obligatory £1 each way.
Of course it was much cheaper with the Tesco vouchers applied.

Is that tunnel or ferry that you have booked please?
I need to plan and book as early as I can due to work and other commitments.
It is not that easy to take 3 weeks off in June or July to go swanning around in Europe. Still have to work a little and I am missing out on some events for the charities that I support in June and July no matter how hard I try to avoid schedule clashes.

Sorry, as you were talking about the tunnel I didn't feel the need to mention that was what it was about.

I have got money invested in an ISA stocks and shares fund making 40% per year . Why should I withdraw money now to save a mere £30 in case the ferry fare goes up £30 by next summer? £30 is peanuts. I will gain more than that by leaving the money invested for another six months.

No probs, I did not wish to assume you were referring to tunnel crossings, that's all.
