If you want to explore Dijon and can`t stay close by, just look at trains. We often stay at the site in Chagny, south of Beaune, and the station is a 10 minute stroll from the campsite. We use the train to visit Dijon, Beaune, and Chalons, it is very easy.

That doesn't cut the mustard!
But the ubiquitous French aperitif "kir", of which we happen to be very fond, is named after Chanoine Felix Kir, priest and former mayor of Dijon (who we presume also had a lake named after him!).
Sorted, booked a different campsite to the East of Dijon.
