Thanks Val, I think what's worrying more it's not really the driving just getting used to French 17,   Ha ha I  spose once you have done it.

I've done the Republic of Ireland and that wasn't a problem. So with a bit of luck hopefully all goes well, but that's part of the fun.

Well if you can Drive over here in Ireland with no problems then Driving in France will be like going to the local shop17

Happy Camping

Just to go back to the question about the use of automatic-only motorway toll points (i.e. where there is no human being in a booth as an alternative), I have found that a UK credit card works fine in these. It's a very speedy process; the machine doesn't even ask you for a PIN.  (If at first it doesn't work, try putting the card in the other way up, or other way round, or something, until it does.)

I also find that my UK credit card works in the 24/24h supermarket petrol stations now.   But that was good advice, above, not to run low on a Sunday in the wilds of the countryside.  Incidentally, if you are desperate, don't forget the "petrol station" POIs on your sat-nav.  That has saved me once or twice!
