Another no brainer the chunnel is quicker, but more expensive.Less aggro than getting on a ferry and no sea sickness.Booked months ago for next august travelling to the south of france with 4 different camp sites.
roll on the summer to get away from this horrible depressing weather!

We used the tunnel for the first time this year and thought it was great for ease of access with the caravan and speed of getting to France. We were less impressed that the girl directing us inside the train misjudged things and waved us into the next compartment, then realised half our caravan was still in the previous carriage and so we, and all the traffic behind us, had to reverse (OH was not a happy chappy!). There was also an hour or so's delay on our return trip, for no apparent reason. I agree that there's a much greater sense of holiday occasion on a ferry too. We're back to ferry for 2011, purely due to price - first experience of Norfolk Line, so we'll see how that goes!

Hi Bofs, we were the caravan directly behind you, it was a fair way you had to reverse, the French traffic lady got it badly wrong causing quite a hold up.Thought at the time glad it was you and not me.24

We always wait to make sure there's enough space in the compartment in front before moving in to it.

This year we went into the van to make a sandwich but someone came along and said we couldn't sit in the van we had to stay in the car.

it was our first time using the tunnel with the van. Needless to say we were far more cautious on the return journey! Apologies for the hold-up orion50, and nice to meet you!

Hi Bofs again,

When disembarking the French lady asked that when they opened the fire doors behind me could I reverse to allow room to open fire doors at the front (thats how tight it was).

I quipped that I was good for 1 metre!! she went to the rear and came back saying that would be sufficient!!

Maybe my humour was lost in translation?

Cheers and nice to meet you too24

Ina - Thank you for that - I had forgotten that I could check. I've just used your link and it has  been delivered including the signature. I will give them a call tomorrow.

Out of interest my post office receipt is for the 2nd and the signature is dated 7th December - so what should in theory be next day delivery actually took 3 working days (a weekend in between) - which considering the weather probably isn't that bad.

Thanks again for providing the link.

Caroline

At least you now know they've received them.

And yes, in theory it should have been delivered the next working day, which should have been the 3rd. But Eurotunnel can see that you posted it on the 2nd, so it is not your fault they didn't receive it until the 7th. And in any case, they say that vouchers should be received by them in 4 working days, so in your case they were delivered on the 4th working day, so no argument!
