Easy peasy, its a lovely wee cycle, we cycled in inthe mornings to get our bread and milk. It is a small village, but perfectly formed!!!!

Beaches well within cycling distance and very flat.

We've stayed there, easy cycling in the area. We would also recommend Le Suroit and Les Gros Joncs from the ACSI book. Both have indoor pools and direct beach access. However, we only go in low season, so our experience may not be yours.

Actually, beware of a little green frog living in one of the toilets at Les Gros Joncs, gave OH a shock the first few times he saw it come down with the flush!

Cheers mini camper - seen those sites. I thought both a bit far from nearest village/town for us (from what I can make out on google maps..) - don't want to drive at all if possible once we arrive (up for plenty of short walks & cycles though). Also - looked a bit rowdy for us high season - discos / karaoke etc - bit of an old woman when it comes to that!

we stayed at La Tranche the first time we went to france at a small campsite called Bel (we did eurocamp then) and it was a lovely area, shame the campsite doesn't have a lot going on for children, but just up from La Tranche is Longville Sur Mer and there's a nice site there.  We like the whole vendeen area...La Palmyre has the best zoo I've ever been to.  We're going with the FC for the first time this year and are going to St Hilaire...can't wait!

kittiwake,
If that is the type of site you are looking for then Camping Bel that veema mentioned in the previous post, sounds what you are looking for.
Small, quiet, close to a town and great cycle routes.

Funnily enouigh camping Bel was on our short list as well for this year but ended up with Camping la Foret near St Jean de Monts for our second week. Only 60 pitches and no night time entertainment but plenty for kids to do and beach 400m walk through pine forest.

Plenty of flat cycling in area apparently but wasn't one of our requirements but walkable beach was and town nearby
