Definitely worth it - we stayed on a lovely Camping A La Ferme site in the Ardeche years ago, absolutely idyllic, and we had the pool (shared with the owners) to ourselves!
We've had a look at a couple of others, over the years, but not actually stayed on any more - though we're increasingly tempted as friends report their 'success' stories every year on fabulous farm sites they've found!
We've stayed on a few Campings a la Ferme and very good value they are. One in particular near Condom, cost us 8 Euros per night, including EHU. We were the only ones there in September a couple of years ago. Whilst it didn't have a pool, it did have a good toiletblock, a washing machine for a couple of Euros, which I made use of, and loads of space to hang the washing!
Another one is north of Castelnaudary, that is like a CL, but takes more units. A couple of years ago that cost us 10 Euros including EHU, with fabulous toiletblock. Gets busier as it is on the route south between Bordeaux and the coast, so a lot of overnighters, but very few actually stay longer so usually you'd be on your own during the day there, we were!
