Just another thought, relating to your original post.
Given the excessive heat we've had over here in France recently, and that you travel with your dog, have you given thought to how to manage your pit stops if it is too hot to leave your dog on the van? Even in covered parking areas and with windows and the sun roof open, we would not have left the dog in the car. One of us went into the supermarket while the other stayed with the dog in as much shade as we could find.
Just thought it may scupper your plans for Flunch lunches if the weather is even relatively hot.
Don't worry, I have a plan.

Picked up AHC yesterday and the vet was telling us that they hope to be issuing PP around May / June time next year.
He also said the industry is trying get them to allow vets to use all relevant information from previous issued AHC or EU issued PP instead of having to go through it all from scratch.
He also mentioned that the new PP might not have as many pages in it, so obviously not last as long.

Pleased that it's been of use to you, especially in relation to the PLI. There's a lot of useful info, particularly in our case taking a pet abroad for the first time.
So far Easy Pet have been very good with all the preliminary stuff of sending info across etc. Very prompt replies (via Whatsapp) to any queries.
Happy and safe travels.
I shall have a chat with the vet when I go it with him for his AHC and ask about using other service providers.
I would like to gauge how easy/difficult it will be for them to send the required information to EasyPet, etc. etc...

The recommendation by Ina, for Kathy Thomas is good as you have now found out. I have just returned from my road trip. Kathy is spot on and has OV experts who will give advise.
I travelled through 3 EU Countries. I visited Switzerland is not in the EU, but they are in the pet travel scheme.
If you find your own vet too expensive, like I did; I used the map for vet recommendation. Very easy to use; information needed like the medical history, your vet emails the information to the AHC provider, rabies jabs, microchip reading, and so on. I had no problems.

It does seem that the AHC "specialists" are not only cheaper but can be relied on to complete the paperwork accurately.
Absolutely, and that's the most important thing. The fact they are cheaper is an added bonus

I also agree, I didn't quite trust my own vets practice to do my AHC. Red flags signal was that a vet was going to give the jab before scanning the microchip and documenting date, time, and number. Then made an error in the expiry date of the rabies inoculation. The would have cost was nearly 3 times more.
I went elsewhere for AHC who does them all the time. Definitely return, as the OF had his information now.
