Hi. You don't say how far you want to go, or whether it has to be a beach site.I know a site on the Charente, Dordogne border, that has never let us down, as there is 7 acres for tents. It,s inland but has a pool etc. campinglepetitlion
Hi faucon thanks for your reply. We're looking for two sites Brittany and Vendee probably don't want to go down quite as far as Les Sables. At this late stage it is a case of where still have availability. We definitely want one of the sites to have water slides and maybe other one close to beach.
Last year we went to Lake Garda and the majority of campers were Dutch and really hardly any English at all, bit of a shame for the kids.
We do like the look of Camping du Letty in Benodet and La Ferme du Latois in Brétignolles-sur-Mer and both have availability at the moment. Anyone else used these sites?
We have also booked for Du Letty. We are going on 17th July till 16th August. We've not been before but, we also posted a message on here. We had quite a few replies and without exception, they were all really good. Just one downside though, there is no pool on site, which we thought might be a problem with our 10 year old but apparently the site is right on the beach and it's great for swimming, it even has a floating platoon! We have since spoken to some aquaintances of ours and they went to Du Letty last year and said it was great and would definitely go back there. We've just bought a dinghy with an engine and we are taking it with us...i'm so excited!

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Thanks for your reply Ali and Neil, looks like we'll be at Du Letty at the same time - not as long a holiday as yours unfortunately. We've now booked for 7-14th August then we're moving on to the Vendee. We decided that it didn't matter so much not having a pool at this site as our next site has pools + water slides so our kids age 9 and 10 are happy - beach then pool!
(Apparently 90% of toilets at Du Letty are traditional sit-down type and 10% holes in the ground.)
Anyone any views on La Ferme du Latois campsite in Brétignolles-sur-Mer?
Also haven't been to the Benodet area before any tips at all?
Now just need to buy all our camping accessories so I'll be looking through the website for tips there too!
