We stopped at a site in Sasso Marconi (about 8 miles south of Bologna) for two nights 2 years ago on our way to Rome. The site is called Camping Piccolo Paradiso, leave the A1 motorway where signed Sasso Marconi, the site is signposted from 1st junction off the motorway. It is a quiet, pleasant site, nothing special, but ok; pool is about 200 metres away. It fills up from about 5.00pm onwards with overnighters.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
