Hi

Really like the look of this site for next year, having braved the ferry to the Isle of Wight this year would now love to go further a field with the caravan. Having never taken the caravan abroad before I wouldn't know how to go about booking something like this. Where do I start? How would I go about booking this site for example. Any help in booking a holiday in France for next year would be grately appreciated.

Thanks

Mandy

We found it easiest to book directly with the site we stayed at. It just seemed less hassle and straight forward. I will post a review soon of camping-des-isles in Southern Brittany which we found excellent last week

Hi

That's a lovely looking site!  I've been doing my searches for next year and I too have chosen the same region.  We've previously been down to the South of France (Languedoc) with Keycamp, but didn't think much of it and prefer Brittany - prettier and more interesting/more to do in our opinion.  We even had chilly weather right down in the South, so it wasn't worth driving all that way for the sun either!

Having tested ourselves out by taking the van on the IOW last year, we are now ready to tackle ferrying & towing to France for the first time.

I have booked my 2008 holiday with the Caravan Club Travel Service.  I've put in an early pre-registration booking for L'Orangerie de Lanniron, which is a slightly shorter trip than Du Letty, but still more or less in the same region - not far from Benodet.   L'Orangerie de Lanniron are supposedly developing a larger aquatic feature for 2008 which is great for my Son who likes a good swimming pool and there are good reviews for it on here too.

It was an easy-peasy booking process for those not wanting to book directly with a French Site, or who are troubled by the co-ordination of ferries/sites.  With the CC you can simply book the ferry and the site in one go (at discounted ferry pricing).  You can book their roadsite assistance/personal insurance too if you wish.

I know you don't usually need to book much in advance for French sites, but it just feels better to me to do so and I like the freedom to specify the pitch type and position, which you can do as an early bird.

The only fly in the ointment is not yet knowing the 2008 prices - but the CC say they will let me have my deposit back if the confirmed details are not acceptable, or they will let me amend the booking if necessary They say they are prepared to be very reasonable and flexible with such unconfirmed details available at the time of booking.  On that basis, I've gone right ahead!

Only another 12 months to go !!!!
