Hi

I am sorry but I know this has prob been asked before - but does anyone know of any good Breakdown/Travel Insurance deals?  We are off to France for 2 weeks (2 adult and 1 toddler).  Our car insurance is with Direct Line - so I am wondering if its best to stick to the one company for everything - cos (theorectically!) it would be easier to deal with one place if there was a problem.

Thanks for any advice!

Ange

I am with vehicle rescue direct and they were great when my clutch went in the Loire Valley last year - £34 for 17 days cover.

The only thing is that they cant guarantee to get you a car with a towbar whilst yours in repair, but other than that they are spot on.  It does take longer at the roadside to get the towtruck to you than in the UK,  (about an hour and 3/4) but they paid for my towtruck to take me to the site, organised a hire car, organised another towtruck to take car to main dealers, and even paid for a taxi from the campsite to the car dealers to pick my car up!

I have booked with them again for this year! (off on SUNDAY YIPPEEE)

Green flag european cover is a good one just come back from France and brother in law broke down and he is also with them they were spot on it only cost him £40 for the repairs to his car and they were very good english speaking and sorted everything out for him very quickly.

Also insurance go to travelsupermarket.com they show you the best deals only cost us £14 for family of 4 for 16days cover.

Have you read the Q & A section. They only cover the caravan while it attached to the car.

So if the Van is pitched and you go out in the car for the day and breakdown or have an accident and the car has to be brought back to the UK, they will not pay to bring your van back. (CC Red pennant will)

You cannot beat CC Red Pennant! It's designed for the caravaner.
