Thanks for all of you who helpfully responded to my enquiry re overnight stops in Le Havre area
Flushed with this success, let me try the Forum with another request. We plan to spend the whole of Sept in our caravan in France, first stop Bordeaux then generally follow our noses eastwards and perhaps southwards
We're great fans of Camping a la Ferme, and wonder whether any of you can recommend any in central France, preferably with hook-up?
Many tks

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
In June we stayed for 2 nights at what was called a Camping a la Ferme. It was just west of Souillac in the Dordogne.
However, it was not exactly basic, it had 2 (small)toiletblocks, a small swimmingpool and hook-ups. Saying that though, it was run by a farmer, who also runs the local school bus, and was very laidback. The daily charge was 12 Euros for 2 adults and motorhome (same for caravan), plus 2.50 Euro for hook-up, 16 amp. The owner comes round daily to collect his fees, on the first day I only had a 20 Euro note, or 13 Euros in change. As he had no change with him, he just took the 13 Euros instead of the 14.50.
There are 2 separate areas, when we arrived there was nobody on the 2nd area and so we went on that and had it all to ourselves whilst we were there. The toiletblocks were superb, with plenty of very hot water.
It is adjacent to a cycle track and we used that both days, it was superb, you could get a long way.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
