I have put this on again as I realised that the spelling of the town was wrong.

On the way back this year we passed through a beautiful little village called Durtal, just north of Angers.

Has anyone ever stopped at the municiple site there?

We would like to know anything about the site and/or the village.

Have you tried typing the town name into Google?

We use Durtal as an overnight stop down to the Vendee each year. The owner speaks english -  and is very firendly. It is a lovely site, right next to the river - the Chateau looks imposing we have never been in - but worth a look. The campsite is very French - lots of locals from le Mans  use the site for weekends etc. and very friendly. This year there was an outdoor cinema the night we where there! It has quite a lot of events thru' the week as well, from boules to moules et frites and yet is very tranquil. Definitely worth a stop. You can also use the local swimming pool just outside the camp as part of the price for a pitch which was about £11 this year I  think. Great example of a municipal site.

Thanks very much we are thinking of have a couple of nights on the way down to Royan and a couple of nights on the way back. Is this site the one where when you come out and turn left then go down the hill turn left again and end up on the bridge?
