We are hoping to make our first trip to provence later this Summer with our caravan. We have narrowed our choice of sites down to 2 and even with the reviews here are finding the choice difficult. Has anyone been to either Domaine De La Noguiere or Esterelle? If any recommendations? Also, we are struggling to find a decent stop over en route both down and back. Any suggestions will be very very gratefully received.

Thanks in advance - Shaun and Emma

Just bringing this back to the top - so you might get an answer in the post-New Year period.  Stayed at Esterel many years ago - nice site, and nice area, but VERY busy in high season.  When are you planning on going?  Traffic on the Riviera can be very bad in high season, and you can even find yourself queueing to find a place to park in a supermarket.

Can't help with first campsite but my parents stayed at Camping Esterel in October as part of  a mini tour de France. They said it was the best sites they had stayed on in terms of services, e.g. amazing bathrooms. They also commented that is was mainly hard-standing - not much greenery. Can't remember if they used the restaurant/bar - will find out and get back to you!

Stayed here a few years ago ,nice site, a bit cramped for larger vans, kids loved the place, not far to the sea at Agay ,traffic bloody awful in july/august especially N98 Frejus to St Tropez ,parked at Port Grimaud (nice ice cream) and walked to St Tropez! ,had some great days in Cannes,Monaco Nice, and even went to a massive market in Italy (Ventimiglia) .Always used autoroute A 6 and usually stay overnight at Campsite municipal Macon  just north of the town and easy access from autoroute north and south regards S/C

Just noticed that Domaine de la Noguiere is now part of the Camping Cheque network.  When were you thinking of going?  If you could go before 5th July or after 23rd August then you could save quite an amount by using Camping Cheques especially as the site offers 7 nights for the price of 6 cheques.  Just a thought!
