Hi everyone, I have been a regular visitor to these message boards having bought our first caravan last summer and this is my first post so be gentle with me!

We are hoping to venture across the Channel this summer (July/August) with our caravan and will be taking our 3 kids (7, 5, 18mths) with us.

We thought South Brittany would be manageable (Dover Calais to keep the cost down - will we need to stop en route?) with the kids and I have seen a campsite called Les Pierres Couchees and I would really appreciate some advice/feedback from anyone who has previously been.  It looks quite small which would be ok but I don't want to feel overcrowded as it will be peak season.  Also I am keen to know what the facilities are like for toddlers - play areas, washrooms etc., as well as for the older two.

The kids are all very excited about going to France but my 7 year old daughter has said that she "just wants a holiday like the ones we used to have before the caravan!" which I think means she wants a decent pool and nearby beach and hopefully a bit less rain!  Does Les Pierres have a good pool complex and is the beach sandy with gentle seas as I do have a feeling that the Atlantic breakers may be a bit much for a newly walking toddler!

If there are other sites which anyone thinks would suit us, I would be v grateful of any info.

Finally, as Les Pierres is a Siblu parc I could use my Tesco vouchers and as all of us who have to pay for peak season holidays knows.. Every Little Helps!... so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the site ticks all our boxes.

Once again thanks,

Emma

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Hi Emma, welcome to UKCS.

Siblu parks are usually of a high standard, and well managed.  I'm sorry that I haven't actually any experience of the area you mention, but didn't want your first posting to disappear off the page with no replies.  Hope you get more help soon.
