I take it its a free standing one--the trick with any gas fridge is not to attempt to light it as soon as you have stopped travelling--turn on the gas & allow it to stand for 20 mins at least before attempting to light it--if that dont work it needs the burner cleaning out--

Ah--its installed in a van--if you cant get it to work it will have to be removed & serviced by a competant person--it probably aint been serviced for yrs--without trying to alarm you old fridges have been known to catch fire & burn the whole van out-so I would get it done-a tip-while its out-turn it upside down & leave for an hour--it will work much better afterwards--is the van level when you have been trying to start the fridge?--they wont work on gas or electric if they aint reasonably level--

I had a fridge in an Adria years ago that stopped working when I got to site in Cornwall. Rang the dealer and he said - I kid you not! - to take it out and turn it upside down.

Took me a couple of hours to get it out, turn it, and re-install it but it worked.

It's a trick to clear an air-lock in the coolant - I knew it'd work when I heard it glugging and burbling when I was turning it - and it worked a treat from then on.

Up-turning works with dead domestic fridges too (as long as the motor is ok)
