We're headed off to the Alsace this summer (probably on Belgian/Lux motorway route) and are looking for a stop about an hour or so from Calais. Any recommendations for a simple, quiet campsite (municipals would be fine)?

Thank you.

Hi, It's a bit further, but we've stayed here before: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=6792 It's quite basic but really pretty and peaceful, and the staff are really friendly. Would definitely recommend it.

Have fun anyway!

MJ.

Thanks, looks interesting.  Presumably if it's popular with brits heading south booking ahead is advisable?  We've booked our long stay sites, but were unsure about the stopover - just incase we make good/poor time from ferry.

Mj's site looks fine but it's about 2 hrs from Calais and is no good if you intend going through Belgium/Luxembourg. Lille is 70 miles from Calais so that is over the hour. The largest town on this route is Armentieres and I'm sure there will be a municipal there.
