I haven't been to Sequoia Parc but know the area well. It's not the best location for access to the best beaches and other attractions, as it's a bit "out on a limb". However, there've been loads of good reviews of the actual site.
Have a good look at the map and you'll see that this area is a bit of a peninsula.
We always prefer the Royan/la Palmyre area as it's nearer the best beaches and easier to come and go for day trips etc. The coast road at la Palmyre (near the zoo) gets very busy at peak times - worth considering.
This is a great area of France. Wherever you choose, I'm sure you'll enjoy it - don't forget the day trip to Cognac and the distillery tours - well worth it!

You'll regret asking this. Just done a check for you on Brittany ferries. Using your basic information going out Fri coming back Sat daytime including cabin July/Aug, £713. You could try the Caravan Club you may get a cheaper deal.

It would be cheaper to fly there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi,
We're crossing Portsmouth-Le Havre late July & it's costing us £280 one-way with LD Line. On the way back, we're crossing via the Channel Tunnel (£90), stopping overnight at Le-Mans.
This will be our 3rd year at Sequoia Parc. This is a lovely site with a mixture of British, French, Dutch, Italian & German campers. The main pool is a bit fresh to say the least but ok when you get used to it. The other 3 pools are a lot warmer.
Your girls will love it which means you'll love it!!
I have seen a few posts discussing camping cheques and didnn't have a clue what it was. I have saved the website as a favourite. Might come in handy at some time.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Royan is lovely, I used to go camping there with my parents many years ago.
