If your talking UK TV abroad then I would say it has to be Sky or I believe Free-Sat is now up and running.

We use a sky 2 dish when over the water, with a receiver from the "suitcase satellite system" no problems in France, moving west in to Spain no problems on the Costa Brava, although we did notice the signal level is dropping, think if you go further west in to Spain you might get problems, the signal footprint seems to be oval, so the further west or east you go, the bigger dish might be required. Not an expert so perhaps someone with more expertise might help you.------------- TomnGill

You can buy Free to Air satellite kits in B&Q. This will get you English channels in France. £60 gets you the whole kit.------------- Michael

Hi Brian
If you have a Skybox at home take that with your card and remote. Buy a dish on EBay some aerial wire and some form of tripod. I use an old camera tripod.
Lots of info here - http://www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk/

Best advice I can give as far as TV abroad is concerned is LEAVE IT AT HOME! or are you going abroad to spend your time trying to catch up on Eastenders and Neighobours?
