Off to Paris two weeks tomorrow for a 5 nights. Staying at Camping International somewhere on the Seine. Kids madly looking forward to seeing the Eiffel Tower. Don't care what the wheather is like just can't wait to be away.
Then in August off to Holland to Zeeland and the town of Middleburg.
It might be the same place we stayed last year and if so it's expensive, as far as sites go, that is. It is also a devil to find first time round. Good luck to you!
Hi travelling man in what way was it expensive, do you mean the shop or the actual site, we've looked at lots of sites in the area and for when we're going this was the best deal. Any tips on finding it first time round if it's that bad.
Thanks Liz

Then in August off to Holland to Zeeland and the town of Middleburg.
We went there last year in September for 4 days, Middelburg is where my grandmother was born and amongst other things, I went there to do some family tree research in the archives there (I am Dutch myself).
Are you staying on the site in Middelburg? If so, the site is very conveniently situated, but the toiletblock is rather dilapidated, and wasn't terribly clean, not exactly filthy, but not what I would have expected to find.
Middelburg itself is lovely, the square is beautiful, with the townhall at one end, there is a market, and lots of cafe's.
I hope you are taking your bikes too! It's great cycling over there, but I expect you already knew that. Have a great trip.
Hi Ina not actually staying in Middelburg, it's just the nearest big place that anyone might of heard of that I mentioned, we staying at a site on Kamperland (I think its one of the small islands) at a place called Camping Moelenhoek, at Molenweg. We are taking our bikes, don't intend to use the car once we are there and we're all really looking forward to it. The kids can't wait our youngest is 5 and thinks the idea of riding everywhere on the trailer bike is fantastic. Any tips on good places to visit, apart from Middelburg which sounds really interesting. Any ideas greatly received.
Nearly there 5 Days to go, Off to la bien assise for a week on Friday 23 as a trail run for July 27 when were of to Valras plage for 3 weeks first time in tent so a bit nervous but hopefully all bases covered (fingers crossed)

The site you are going to is on the island of Noord-Beveland, it is a very small island, but as you probably know, linked to the other islands by road. I haven't actually stayed there, but in March we stayed on the islands of Duiveland, immediately to the north of where you are going and then went on to the island of Zuid-Beveland, the one immediately below where you are going.
More or less opposite to where you are going is the small town of Veere, which is situated on the Veerse Meer, which is the lake between where you are and the island below it. Veere is a lovely little town, some people still wear the typical Dutch clothes of years ago, it is lovely to stroll around the streets with some very old houses and I think worth a visit. Middelburg, as I said, is very nice too.
Of course the area is absolutely great for cycling, although being surrounded by water, be prepared for a head-wind from time to time! Also, Zeeland claims to be the Dutch province with the most hours of sun every year.
This website, English version, is the tourist info website for the province of Zeeland, and you might find it useful:
Thanks Ina looks like a great site, we are really looking forward to going, not too bothered about a head wind we live on the coast next to the Mersey so are used to strong sea breezes.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
