Hi folks,

Can anyone suggest a camp site on or near to Lake Maggiori. We ideally want a smallish site that will take dogs, not a huge commercial one and we dont need to be on the lake.

We stayed at a site close to the railway station in Baveno. Baveno is on the shores of Lake Maggiore and is a very pretty but not overcommerciallised resort. Sorry I can't remember the name of the site but it was quite small and homely with a very friendly and hospitable lady owner. Very handy if you want to travel anywhere by train whilst you're there. There was also a site right by the lakeside but I don't know much about it as we didn't stay there.
