Well less than a week to go now - this time next week we will be in Dover!!!

Weather forecasts here look bad for the Vendee i.e. 23 degrees and showers - is anyone down there and whats it like really?

Just returned from Le Bahama Beach in St Gilles Croix De Vie, landed back in Dover at 14.20 .

very disappointed in the weather in the vendee region, had about 5 really hot days temp around the 25 to 28 degrees, had a really bad storm on the 28th July rained all day.On a positive note although it was cloudy, the temp still stayed warm in the day and around 4.00 pm it seemed to get hotter and the sun tended to come out.

Travelled up and down the coast St Jean de Monts and Les sables and weather was much the same all along that coastline.

Journey back to Calais , horrendous down pour which is heading south , should be cleared and gone by the time you guys get there.

According to the people who work on the camp as we were close to the coast, it is sometimes unpredictable , anyway have a good holiday, and enjoy the weather not matter what .

We returned from Pin Parasol yesterday near Bretignolles sur Mer and as mkbrummie said the weather is it bit up and down. Very hot some days and nights and wet others.  We were not cold at night just our normal summer/spring sleeping bags which sometimes we did not use.  The forecast for this week does look a little wet but I don't think they really know as some days we woke to rain but on the beach in the sun by lunch time. However after saying all that many others on the site were disappointed having been other years with wall to wall sunshine. Enjoy your holiday I am sure you will have a great time whatever the weather brings.

Got back from Domaine de la Foret in the Vendee last night and would agree with what others have said about the weather. However, what it did mean is that we went out and about a bit more than last year and more often than not the day would improve and we would end up on the beach or by the pool. We seem to have all picked up a good colour and it was rarely cold enough to put on a cardigan, even at night.

I went to the Vendee for six years on the trot as a teenager and hardly remember a day when we weren't on the beach but things do seem to have been a little different in recent years, less dependable, but you can still have a great time.

Susie

We too just got back from Les Biches at St Hilaire De Riez, and the weather was patchy but it never actually stopped us fromdoing anything we anted to do, maybe we went to the beach a little later some days and had to come back from Atlantic Toboggan a litle earlier than we would have liked, but it as still a damn sight better than had we stayed in Kendal.

Driving back to calais we drove through the downpour too someone mentioned and have never in 7 years of french holidays had to do that.

But we will still be back next year...St Gilles is lovely and never tire of that market...:) Post holiday blues about to kick in....lol
