After two weeks of rain in Cornwall I have decided that we need to go back to Spain or South of France for the sun again. Normally go to the Costa Brava can anyone recommend any sites they have been to in Spain or SoF preferably by the sea with a pool shop and maybe a takeaway. I have worn out my glasses reading the reviews and now I'm just confused!!

Just come back from La Brasilia which is suitable for all ages however it was fully booked when we left. Might be worth phoning them. They have a website if you put their name in google.

I am off to Le Boucanet near Montpellier at the end of August - based on recommendations from this site. I was looking for a site with direct beach access (ie not crossing road), sandy beach and pool - this campsite ticks all the boxes.

Typically I would visit the Costa Brava, if you are looking for a pool and excellent beach, try Las Dunas, in my opinion Camping Aquarius is a nicer site, but has no pool. I prefer Las Dunas to Nautic Almata. You could also try Balena Alegre, I have not been there so cannot comment - This stretch of the Costa Brava is perfect for a family camping holiday, it has one of the best beaches in Europe, but is never crowded as the access is only through the camp sites. The only reason why I am not going this year is that having been nearly 20 times I feel that I ought to broaden my horizons.

One advantage of Le Boucanet is that it is 2 / 3 hours closer to Calais

We have just come back from la nautique in Narbonne, Languedoc.  Nice site with pool and waterslide, run by duch people.  One nice feature is that the pitches have their own little block with shower/washbasin/toilet.

We just spent 2 week near Frejus in SOF. Sunny and hot )over 30 degrees) every day, except the day we were packing to come home when it was a mere 27 degrees and a bit cloudy!! Worth the long journey. Cloudy and rainy now that we are back in Blighty.

Got back from Cornwall on Sat and the weather was rubbish! Don't feel like I have had a holiday at all

Luckily we are off to Loire valley in 10 days time, hope it is still sunny there!
