We are hoping to go back to Cambrills park next year (Near Tarragona), last time we sailed to Bilboa and drov 5 hours.  This time we want to sail to France and drive down, stopping at an Ibis of F1 hotel on the way through. Has anyone done this??

Our Dover to Calais was less than £200 return with the Caravan Club. It then cost around £200/£225 to drive down to Torroella De Montgri which is 100 miles north of Barcelona. Appreciated you are a lot further South but this may give you some idea.

The route we take is Calais>Rouen>Evreux>Dreux.Chartres>Orleans>Limoges>Toulouse>Narbonne>Carcasson>Narbonne and then A9>Ap7 after the border. Cheapest for tolls and less hills to climb.

Calais to Torroella is 826 miles and actual driving time at a steady 60'ish is about 16 hours.

If you put in your details into viamichelin it will give you different routes,We chickened out of the Andoora route in the end and went Croydes route to Vilanova near Sitges We stopped for lunch near Paris in an aire with a restaurant and a takeaway pizza at 9pm in Limoges.Then we arrived at a gorgeous B&B near Souillac- La Pierre Plantee. Then we drove the next day and arrived at Vilanova at about 8pm.

It was a long slog though and only possible with a12 year old and 18 year old due to a mixture of Ipods, portable DVds and sleep!

I wouldnt rush to go so far again with children but I loved the B& B an enjoyed the drive through the Lot region.
