Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Sorry i can't help but i am sure other people on here will. You may want to put this thread on the camping and caravanning abroad, also have a look at the search facility tab at the top.
Hi Pete,
We stayed in Camping Bel at La Tranch Sur Mer in Vendee. Site toilet/showerblock absolutely spotless, cleaned constantly all day. Have never been anywhere that was cleaned so much.
Great for smaller kids, has good playground.
But our two kids aged 12 and 10 yrs both loved it. No older teens running riot around the site. Very quiet at night. The owners live on site and are very nice.
Close to shops, beach and town, we were able to walk to all three.
Check Eurocamp Independent website for site details, this is how we booked. Didnt think we would have saved a lot by booking ourselves and they did all the work - very efficiently.
Our daughter used Funstation for a few days and really enjoyed it. You cant use it if booking independently, as it is run by Eurocamp/Keycamp.
Have sites with electric, water and drainage.
Take away/resturant very small and has very limited menu, we used it only twice.
Cant wait to go back next year.
Hi Pete,
We took our own touring caravan, we prefer to take our own dirt with us!!!!!!!!! There were lots of people with their own tents as well.
We crossed from Ireland direct Cork to Roscof. Found it a very relaxing way to travel. Usually we travel overnight from Scotland to Devon/Cornwall, so we are exhausted by the time we get to the site.
There is such a difference travelling on French roads. Loads of people told us, but didnt really believe it until we did it.
Most of the people staying around us, had their own caravans/tents and some had been there for 10 yrs in a row.
Forgot to say in earlier post that the site owners organise something each night at about 8.30pm for the kids. Three nights there was live entertainment, singers, magician and a clown (who was the favourite of the holiday). Other nights they show DVDS on a big screen TV, both our kids would not have missed this despite having seen most of them before.
Hope this helps.

Hi, can you narrow that down a bit? Are you looking at the bottom end of the Atlantic coast, or the Dordogne area, or where?
If it's the Dordogne, I can highly recommend Camping Bel Ombrage near Sarlat, I have a comprehensive review of it on this site. It's lovely.
