Yes but not in camper van..might be chilly? Aachen MUCH the best. Cologne very commercialised with several different markets with tourist trains running between. Much bigger but lots of stalls selling same stuff so not worth it in my opinion. Nice lindt chocolate outlet at Aachen too! We stayed just in Holland and went by coach to both towns. Car parks very full.
I know this thread is a year old but if you are reading it could you let me know where you stayed in Holland? Anyone else have any good tips for sites from where you can visit any of the good xmas markets?
Thanks
John

ooh - we are going to Cologne for the Christmas Markets (will be a hotel/apartment jobbie) but is it possible to get to Aachen for the day from there?
It's between 40 minutes and an hour by train, according to the German train site. All trains seem to be direct, so it could hardly be easier.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
