We're at the stage where both our friends and our own boys are 16yrs old. They still want to come caravanning with us at the moment, but we feel that its time to use some sites with facilities to suit them aswell as ourselves.
Preferably in France. Ideally it will have some watersports, evening entertainment etc. For our part, we would like decent sized private pitches. Maybe even fully serviced.
Obviously it would be nice to have places nearby to visit.
So that is your mission. not asking too much am I!

camping Le Soleil at Argeles is noisey BUT teenagers seem to love it and ours demand revisit - its next to a good beach, the area is jumping with potential visits of all sorts, the bar is youngster friendly [lets them gather and chat] and the disco is from 0000 to 0400.
St. Avit Loisirs at Le Bugue (Dordogne) is absolutely fabulous for teenagers. We spent 3 weeks there this year and the teens had their best holiday for years. One plus point is that it never gets rowdy.
They have fully serviced pitches but I wouldn't say they were that private. I have a review published on this site if you are interested.

Some people are just all show. I don’t mind that if the show is worth watching but ….

Ranc Davine http://www.camping-ranc-davaine.fr in the Ardeche was good for our boys about 4 years ago Specially designated meeting area for teenagers (though actually no-one seemed to use it ad there was too much going on elswhere)River through the camp site, pool complex and spa, games area, lots of water sports, caving etc nearby, plenty of other teenagers present, family entertainment in the early evening then disco night club which started at 11pm in a sound proofed underground room.
The pitch we chose was right on the edge of the site and large enough for our twin axle van, large awning and pup tent with space to spare. Other pitches closer to the entrance were smaller and we rejected the first one offered for that reason.
The worst noise disturbance we had on our side of the site was the chap in the tent next door who snored loud enough to bring a house down! It may have been noisier closer to the games area but for us it was a good compromise. Space and peace for us parents and plenty goung on for the teenagers.
We had elec hook up but no water or drainage at the pitch. I don`t know if some of the pitches were fully serviced as we were not that bothered.
Les Tournels tp://www.tournels.com in Ramatuaelle is also good for teenagers with similar facilities although there have been less English teenagers thee when we have visited. Again you need to choose your pitch with care and we rejected the fully serviced ones as being too close to the main areas.
We did not stay here http://www.esterel-caravaning.fr
had a good look round the site and it does have fully serviced pitches complete with own toilet. It seemed teenage friendly.
Yepp I think you are right pager 33 Spot the deliberate mistake !!
Mind you its the only campsite my two have ever asked to return to, as I think for older teenagers they need a town to be able to walk into and give them freedom and total independence, but then I'm sure some people would disagree with me.
Well thank you to everyone who took the time to reply. This one is looking promising: camping la Brasilia Canet Plage.
Have any members actually stayed here? If so, any advice on pitches? We both have twin axles, so space is important. Been caught out on French sites too many times now!
Yes we stayed there last year. Lovely site away from the busy area of Canet yet you can get the ferry across very easily. The pitches were large and the toilet blocks immaculate. Owners very helpful and very well organised. Great site for older teenagers

The site allowed electric BBqs and they also hired them out along with fridges.
The toilet block we were near was brand new and the nicest one I have every seen in all the campsites I have visited. Although we were in a rented mobile we all used the showers at the toilet block, as they were excellent power showers with water that could easily be regulated. My teenagers liked the fact that there were hairdries provided and an area they could use their hair straightners. I think they were communal showers, but the toilets were ladies/gents. The site do have a website where you might find more information, but I can only assure you that my kiddies said most of the people they met come year after year and were from the Netherlands, Britain and France.
I understand this site only accepts repeat bookings until November. Is this correct? So how likely are you to get pitch or mobile in July/ August if you are a first timer.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
