It's not as bad as it's painted - we missed the ring road in the dark, came over the brow of a hill, and found L'arc De Triomphe right there 200 yds away. But it was OK, no real problems.
Having said that, if it was me, for the convenience and parking, I'd definitely use the train and metro - it's a good experience for kids too.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

That is about the most "laid back" statement I have ever seen. If you are that cool Paris must seem like a kiddies play park. You are obviously more at home in Milan, or Rome, or Barcelona. No worries eh?

Gotcha, I think ----- get back to me if you don't receive the mail.

Harry B - quiet day was it?
You are a brave man!
I think I see FM14 in his wee white Clio in the second picture - the motorbikes are dodging him.
Mrs FM in the Clio, that's why there is a big gap in the traffic. I never ventured up to Paris, in anything less than "the tank", (or a hire car). Must have been one of the days when the good people of Normandy fealt safe to venture out on the roads.
Don't see a problem with driving in Paris - much more civilised than London for example. Parking is really quite simple and nor as expensive as London. If you want a taster then drive in to the periph to Porte d'Italie and pak there then use the Metro. ( free on road parking if you're lucky otherwise park underground for about £10 for the day.)
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
