If you just want an overnight stop theres no need to buy a camping guide. any town of any size will have a camping municipal & it will be signposted in the town. To give yourself a rough idea, check your route & google the name of any town you might want an overnight stop at, put in say, 'Chartres camping municipal' will bring up specific info.
Your route from Calais might be Calais, Abbeville, Rouen, Evereux, Chartres, Tours, Poitiers, Bordeaux & up to Hourtin. All good road & little toll. French toll roads need to be avoided with £/€ parity!
Hourtin campsite is v expensive tho. Pin Sec might be better!
------------- Sell my camper? I'd rather eat school semolina!
