Where is your arrival point in France?
Anything which might make the drive down a little shorter would be welcome but at what price?
So far we can do Dover to Calais with P&O for £174-00
OR
Dover to Dunkerque for £143-00 with Norfolk Line
Middle of July is the dates we're travelling...

It is only on a Sunday, but I think that helps, the roads are quieter! Cherbourgh is alot nearer compared to Calias or Dunkerque, we did it last year too, it was a breeze!------------- ~*MZZY*~

Hi guys,
I've done a bit of browsing on the web and have decided on Norfolk Lines.
Going out 02:00 on Sat 11th July and returning at 02:00 on Sat 25th July.
£120-00 return for the car and caravan. AND £41-50 for a second car (and this is including fee for booking by credit card)
Going Dover to Dunkirk.
Thanks for your advice.
For those querying costs of holidays in France.
Assuming parity for the exchange rate it is going to cost us £300-00 for our pitch at Logis Du Breuil (SW France) 12 nights.
OR
We could pay £400-00 for 14 nights in Dorset for the same dates.
Which do you think is the better option???

Finally decided and booked on Friday with Caravan Club on N/lines, day time sailings with caravan in August for £98.02.
We don't usually book so far ahead but I don't think that we will get it cheaper nearer the time.

NiLi6263, there's no contest, Logis de Breuil every time!! We're big fans, in fact we may well see you there (if I can finally decided where to go this year!) We love the SW coast...but have yet to confirm the ferry this year, we are hoping to do Brittany Ferries Portsmouth - St Malo but it's not cheap. Have a wonderful holiday!

Thanks Askill,
We'll be there from mid July for 2 weeks.
We looked at the alternative routes but to save around 150 miles drive was going to cost an extra £200-00 + so chose to have the money for wine etc... and drive for an extra few hours...
Let us know where you do decide on and if you're there when we are maybe we can share a bottle of wine (or three...)

First 2 weeks of July for caravan and 3 adults and a teenager with caravan for £104 return! Ok it's travelling at some unearthly hour but at least the roads will be quiet to get to dover! Don't think you can beat their prices.------------- Sue and Adie
