And of course there's being able to stop and use the caravan whenever you want on the way there and back. And the fact that you can use the caravan throughout the year without going abroad. We do both - caravan goes with us to France in the summer but we hire a static in the late or early season and take advantage of the cheap prices then.

Whatever you decide - enjoy...

It depends what you do when you are based at the campsite, if you are going to stay on site or use public transport use the M/H if you are going out each day use the car/caravan.

I would agree that £60 is the top end but we there are also 6 of us and by the time you pay 'extra person' adult rates for anyone 10 or over (5 of us) it was not easy finding a nice site for 30 Euros a night ... we did it though and it's saved us a lot of money ... !

Its really up to everyone what they enjoy and prioritise. We're all different. We're going to France on a budget this year - and that has meant leaving the trailer and tent at home. Costs so far, £55 for the ferry and 440 euros for a gite for two weeks.

Costs are not the only consideration.  When you rent a mobile you have to take your bedding in the car with you, something that you can pack in the camper or caravan.  You also have to pay a deposit and wait for madame to inspect the cleanliness and check the inventory before you can leave in the morning, you could be waiting a while if a lot of other people are leaving.

There are all sorts of pros and cons to take into consideration, such as the capital cost of a camper or caravan, however We perfer the indipendance that camping gives.

Regards all, Bob
