Has any one got any more experience of La Raguene Plage near Concarneau, Brittany.
I would love to hear from any one who has been.
And only good things please as i haven't been yet

Many thanks Ian

We visited earlier this year and were really happy. Ive reviewed it properly in the campsite listings.

Search for Raguenez Plage and it should be there!

We havent been to such a good site for a long while and will definitely be going back, it was great

We returned on Saturday (31st) having spent a week at Raguenes-Plages. We would heartily recommend it as very well kept and quiet at night. Swimming pool was great and direct access to beach was fantastic. On down side, emplacemnt size was smaller than I would have liked and I was nervous letting my 5 and 6 yr olds cycle around as there were lots of hedges that obscured visibility. However, these points were minor - it was a really good choice.

Was it very full when you went Dianne? When we went in June we had loads of space as the site was very quiet but noticed that we'd have had nowhere to park our car if we hadnt been able to use the pitch next door.

We'd still go back but were aware that in high season it might feel quite cramped on individual pitches ( but thats not unusual for french pitches in general)

we used to go regularly to france a few years ago with our children, using keycamp, eurosites, eurocamp, always had a great time.  What you notice with the french sites is that the closer you are to the beach, generally the smaller the pitches.  Brittany is lovely and we would like to go again, this time just the two of us and our own tent - any idea how much ferry crossings are from Plymouth to Roscoff?  We have a daughter at uni in Plymouth so that would make sense crossing wise - also good route as it goes into brittany.

Campsite was fairly full (end of July); emplacement size is just about adequate; some are much better than others. Anyway - its not a problem unless you want to spend a lot of time sitting by your tent - unlinkely with fantastic beach nearby (try walking along coastal path to Port Manech - fantastic!!!).
