Hi we are going to France for the first time in the summer and are travelling via Eurotunnel. I am lead to believe that you are not allowed to take Gas bottle. As we are taking all our own equipment ie tent, stove etc. I was wondering what other campers have used in the past? Is it a case of just hiring gas bottles with different regulators from the site or is there another solution? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You can take a gas bottle for cooking purposes.  It's LPG powered CARS which are not allowed on the tunnel.

You'll probably be asked if you've turned your gas off - and someone may actually try the regulator, then they'll issue you with a sticker to say you have gas on board,  but apart from that no problems.
